FAQs

What to expect with your end to end energy storage solution
How long will the construction last?2023-11-13T11:47:01-05:00

Constructing a BESS takes significantly less time than almost any other commercial project. The systems ship in a container, which is set on gravel, concrete, or pilings. The same is true for the other electrical equipment. Projects up to a few acres can be constructed in less than 90 days, whereas larger projects (10-20 acres) up to 6 months.

Does the BESS come available with fire suppression systems? Have these systems been tested before?2023-11-13T11:49:07-05:00

Yes. The BESS industry has spent considerable time and research on the design of self-contained fire suppression systems that can quickly put out any fire that might develop in a BESS and prevent it from spreading to other containers. In addition, software constantly monitors the BESS temperature and only operates within a safe threshold.

How much noise does a BESS make?2023-11-13T11:54:06-05:00

The greatest source of noise in a BESS is the cooling, which typically is done via an HVAC system. The sizing of this system is comparable to that of any other commercial structure.

What will the project look like?2023-11-13T11:57:50-05:00

The battery cells themselves are housed in containers that vary from 30 to 50 feet. A project of this size is likely to have about 12 containers. Additional equipment includes inverters, transformers, meters, etc. that are all housed in metal “outdoor rated” containers.
